Well, here we are, the new version of Modus Operandi. Most of the articles are now available on the main site and I'll be working on getting the downloads available as soon as possible. In the meantime though, feel free to have a look around and let me know what you think.

This is going to take some time to get used to.

Yes, the new forum software is a bit different from the old one but I didn't think we needed all the bells and whistles of the old one to be honest

    Good luck with the site.

Now with a two year break, you're ready to go.

Well I certainly hope to continue to grow the 'site. Of course, if anyone has resources (be it character sheets, optional rules, articles, or anything really) that they'd like to share they are more than welcome to send them to me. Once I'm caught up with the backlog of downloads I'll be putting up a Contact Me page

Whoops, just saw this...after I posted on another forum page.
I'll be sending some support materials for Conspiracy X and possibly Savage Worlds in the next month or so...time permitting.
    Thanks

Almost done uploading the downloads. Just 30 Spycraft ones left to do. I'm having a break now so should get them done tomorrow

Hmm ... my antiquated IE 6 browser is not playing well with this site, but that's my problem, not Dave's. It's good to see the show up and running, especially the return of the downloads.

Are you accepting new downloads, Dave? I might send along my Diamonds are Forever module for the JB007 game ... honestly, it's far more complete than the Living Daylights one currently up.

I'll look into the IE6 problems (I've just gotten a screenshot (I can't test in IE6 unfortunately as IE8 is installed on this laptop and IE7 on my other laptop)).

As for new downloads, yes, of course I'm a bit behind in getting the Spycraft ones up (been a horrible week at work) but I hope to be able to accept new donations from next week.

    Thanks.

I've finally gotten the Spycraft downloads online and the Contact form is also available. You can submit files up to 2MB in size through it. If you have anything bigger than that you can use the contact form to let me know about it and I'll get back to you to arrange a way of getting it to me

Any problems, please let me know.

What is the story behind the Modus Operandi scorpion logo?

No real story actually. A friend of mine, Rob Silk, is a graphic designer and I asked him if he would, as a favour, design a logo for the, as then, new Modus Operandi. He created two logos (one with a pistol and a male and female "standing" atop the Earth and the scorpion one above). For some reason I now longer have the first logo, but I did have the scorpion one. I've always liked those two logos and saw the 10th anniversary as the ideal opportunity to re-use one of them

Dose this form software have a preview option for making posts? I like to preview my post before submitting as I sometimes catch errors.

No, it doesn't but you can edit your post if you spot a mistake.

I am not seeing a way to edit my post.

I had posted in a thread that it should be moved. The thread has been moved. I wanted to edit the post so that it would not keep reading that the thread should move.

You should be see an "EDIT" link beneath each of your posts (just to the right of the "POSTED..." text). If you don't see that please let me know and I'll investigate.

I have deleted your move request post though so you shouldn't see that again

    Hi there,

Edit 1: I see an edit on this post but not the ones above. I will log out and log back in and see if it is gone as it looks as if it is only there right after the post. I do not see it on the posts above.

Edit 2: I still see the edit button after logging out and then back in. I am not sure if the ability to edit is only for a limited amount of time after the post.

Another issue I have been experiencing is that I use a fingerprint reader to log into sites. It keeps putting the user id in the search box and the password in the user id box. This is on the main forum page. I do not know if you are doing this for spam bots. If so could you just change the names of the boxes as I could figure them out and set my reader to fill in the correct ones?

I've not come across a fingerprint reader before so am not sure how best to change things. The names for each of the text entry boxes are as follows:

    Search: q
    Username: user_login
    Password: password

You should also be able to see Edit links beneath all your posts now.

    Hi there,

Yes, I can see the edit below my posts now. I deleted the profile for this site on my fingerprint reader and recreated it. It is working now.

The fingerprint reader is very cool. Logging into the computer just requires you to touch the reader. Sites that require you to login just require you to touch the reader. You have to set the reader up for each site you want to use. If the page has some changes you need to reset it up. I think this is to protect you if you get a fishing link so you don't give out you login by accident.
Here is one company for it.
